This project focused on full site preparation for a new home build. The customer needed a stable house pad, a properly graded driveway, and cleared space along the edge of the woods to make the property build-ready.

This is the 2nd time we have worked with WM Tucker. First, he graded and compacted our build site for a 2200 sq ft home. Now, he came out to do final grade, driveway and an RV pad. The grading is perfect. With the recent rain, water is running away from the house just as William said it would. The driveway is about 350 ft and it’s solid and smooth. We will be on the newly built RV pad for a few months while we finish the house.
William had to move a lot of dirt to build the RV pad and it is better than we could have expected. William is a great guy and he takes great pride in his work. I can really tell that he wants everything to be perfect. He is very good about moving top soil around to minimize purchasing and trucking in extra material. William is great. We highly recommend him!
Clearing and Initial Site Preparation
We started by clearing the edge of the wooded area to open up the build site and improve access. Vegetation and debris were removed to establish clean working lines for grading and drainage.
Topsoil was stripped and pushed off to expose suitable material for compaction. This step is critical to prevent future settling under the house pad.
Building the House Pad in Compacted Lifts
Once the site was cleared, we began building the house pad.
Material was placed in controlled lifts and compacted thoroughly at each stage. This process continued until the pad reached the required height for the home. Building pads this way creates a solid base that supports foundations and concrete work long term.
The finished pad was graded level and prepared for the next phase of construction.
Driveway Installation and Access Grading
With the pad in place, we installed the driveway to provide safe and reliable access to the home site.
The drive was graded for proper slope and drainage. Stone was installed where needed and compacted to create a durable surface that can handle construction traffic and daily use.
Drainage Setup and Final Grading
Drainage was set to manage water flow across the property and protect the pad and driveway.
Final grading ensured water moves away from the house site and does not collect near the foundation area. This step helps reduce erosion, standing water, and long-term maintenance issues.
